African Fashion Week London 2012

As a late birthday present to myself, I treated myself to some VIP tickets to  African Fashion Week London. I attended last year and was blown away with the creative talents of the designers from Africa. It was an opportunity to see the designers from the continent that I would not usually have access to without buying a plane ticket to track them down. Last year, I managed to see all the shows, which I was blessed to see, as I know that the organisers had to turn people away due to the response from eager fashionistas.

The VIP tickets were utilised to the fullest as we were treated to canapés and champagne in the VIP area, which allowed us to network with the organisers and designers. There were more stalls than last year due to limited space. I invested in some beautiful hand painted mugs and canvas paintings by Joli Create and some fabrics from other stalls.

The allocated seating arrangement was brilliant as I had a clear view of the runway and my husband with his disabilities could also enjoy the show. My own preference was they styles that utilised the African prints.

I took loads of pictures which I have shared with you above. I’m looking forward to next years show!
